Kane并没接受过正规的表演训练，他参演的第一部是戏是1997年的电视剧《Fame LA》，在《Angel》里扮演了主角的Angel对手——人品不佳的律师Lindsey McDonald。后来又陆续参演了《Secondhand Lions》、《Las Vegas》和《24：The game》等剧，在拍摄《Secondhand Lions》时他上唇受伤留下了一道疤痕。Kane是还是一名歌手和作曲，是乐队KANE的主唱，他表弟是乡村歌手Branden Hart。
2008年，Christian Kane参演了TNT电视台的《leverage》（都市侠盗),饰演Eliot Spencer，五人团队中的打手，表演中帅气温柔深受美女们喜欢，并在片中演唱了他的歌曲《thinking of you》，开始为国外观众熟知。
